Here are some photos from the anzroc 2016 lunch held at the Salvation Army Melbourne HQ at 69 Bourke Street. We were hosted by Major Brendan Nottle and his wife Sandra and were given a tour of the historic building. We enjoyed the same meal as their customers in the cafe downstairs. A very instructive meeting especially relevant given recent press articles regarding homelessness in Melbourne. Peter Pritchard, President of anzroc presented Major Nottle with a cheque for $3100 collected from Anzroc Members at the meeting.
A larger collection of photos from the lunch can be viewed on the ANZ Retired Officers' Facebook page.
The Salvation Army Melbourne Project 614 is a team of people, based in the City of Melbourne, who work passionately with those who live on the fringes of society.
We work with people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness, those suffering from serious mental health issues, people affected by a range of addiction issues and people who are suffering from social poverty. We have hundreds of interactions each day with people aged from 9 to 93.
The Salvation Army Melbourne Project 614 provides support by supplying meals, clothing and counseling but also work with clients to help create pathways out of their current state of marginalisation. These pathways include training, volunteering, employment and accommodation options.
At The Salvation Army Melbourne Project 614 we run the following programs:
- Mobile Outreach
- AMP Youth Bus
- The Vault Youth Space
- Youth Street Teams
