A most enjoyable lunch at the George Hotel Ballarat attended by 50 Members and Partners. Glad to see Peter Harney there to fly the flag for Ballarat but wonder where all the other 'local anzroc members' were. Clive and Faye Hewitt drove up from Warnambool. Carl and Jenny Garley as well as Glyn and Janet Parry-Jones took the opportunity to park their caravans at nearby Creswick and spend a few days in the Region. Jim and Tina Karabatsos along with Anne and I spent the Weds night at the RACV Goldfields Resort at Creswick and caught up with the Caravanners for dinner that evening. Aldo and Karen Faella and Nunzio and Rosa Liberatore were also taking the opportunity to spend the Thursday night in Ballarat.
Thanks to Joan and Con for working with V/Line to get most of our Members up on the train to Ballarat and to Noel for finding the venue.
It was a good time to be visiting Ballarat as the International Foto Biennale was showing throughout the City with some very interesting Photos. https://ballaratfoto.org/

For those of you who have not seen this on Facebook
A sensational celebration of John's life.
Tributes from the Family at the Service followed by reminiscing by friends at the wake.
A huge turnout facilitating the use of the atrium next door by video link.
The Maori funeral Haka at the end of the service was especially memorable and sent John off in the way he would have appreciated.
The stories at the wake highlighted John's empathy with people from all walks of life. His love of good food and wine. His mate ship with his friends and colleagues. His great career at ANZ and as he called it the Piggy Bank.
He will be sorely missed by everyone he met.
Vale John a Legend to us all
Check out the music Meatloaf, Deep Purple, Guns N' Roses that sums up John to a tee.
Sadly we heard today that John Winders has passed away after a 7 month battle with melanoma. He was one of the best guys around and will be missed by his many friends and colleagues. Our deepest condolences to Julia, Roger, Dewi, Keith and their families.
