ANZROC Lunch April 2019 Clayton RSL

 

On ANZAC day, we pause to remember, as we did at this month’s meeting held in Clayton RSL Club,where 39 members attend and enjoyed an interesting  presentation by Dean Lee, CEO of the Shrine of Remembrance, Melbourne. 

 

Thanks to Con la Fauci for arranging this speaker and Noel Beanland and David Knuckey for arranging the venue/lunch.

 

Vale Kuni Karpavicius

We have been advised that our ANZROC member Kuni Karpavicius aged 73 years

passed away this morning 30/03/2019 after a long battle with cancer….

Kuni was a stalwart of the ANZ Football team and starred as their ruckman for a

number of  years.  Kuni joined ANZ in Bright  and was one of the key lenders

at East Melbourne Area.

Our condolences are extended to Kuni's family.

Funeral will be -

Friday 5th April at 2.30pm

An excellent turn-out of 20 men and 13 women golfers plus a few more who came for dinner at the RACV Club Torquay.

Andrea Thomas won the Women's competition with Pam Hocking as runner-up

Joe Costanzo beat Andrew Kelly on a countback with 44 points to win the men's competition

Jim Karabatsos and Chris Dyer won nearest the pin

Jenny garley and Pam Hocking won best front and back 9

ANZ Cricket Club Re-union

All former ANZ cricketers and supporters are invited to a re-union to be held on  8th June 2019 at the Emerald Hotel in South Melbourne from 12.30pm.
 
The convenor is John Glennie who was a player at the time the Club was dissolved and he would welcome information from any ANZROC members who may wish to attend or who may know of players/supporters that may be interested.
 
John is hoping that a large turnout attend and welcomes enquiries on 0434 184 571.

Mansfield Trip Golf Winners Feb 2019

ANZROC 2019 MANSFIELD SOJOURN

On February 18-20 Mansfield was graced by our presence where much verbal communication, food and beverages were enjoyed by the 18 souls present. Additional highlights were

- Gary Hockings pancake breakfast for non-golfers

- The golf competition with winners Jan Leonard and (John Inglis on CB) and

- the Trivia dinner this year at the golf club via courtesy bus.

Others enjoying the festivities were Jill Ward, Rose Virgona, Glyn and Janet Parry-Jones. Geoff Leonard, Neville and Cheryl Pearson, Irene Bettonvil, Pam Hocking, Leslie Cook, Dal and Maria

Crocker, Bernadette Inglis, Dave and Maureen Harkin with the later five a little more knowledgeable on trivial matters.
